It seems the psychiatry's compulsive solution is big pharma's very profitable and lucrative anti-depressants. This is despite virtually every credible study such as the recent Hall University review of 50 previous studies that showed these drugs couldn't beat a sugar pill by any significant degree. Then there is The British Medical Journal's extensive study that showed SSRI's to be clinically ineffective. These studies did verify the side effects,(caused by the drugs) such as violence and suicide. The market for them; children, teens, foster kids and the elderly seem to have a common denominator, 'they can be hard to control at times' and they can be forced. Psychiatry's 'we will shut them up for you' is itself a poor example of control of an ' unwanted effect' . It doesn't work no matter the vast amounts spent on public relations and deceptive ads. Understanding the causes of being 'out of control' are the solution. They are out there but the huge profit is in prolonging the unwanted effects. Alcohol, street drugs and psychiatric drugs are a solution that creates a bigger problem than they solve.
